The Bills surprisingly released 30-year old QB Ryan Fitzpatrick today. Fitzpatrick played in 16 games (all starts) for the Bills last year and he completed 306 of 505 passes (60.6%) for 3,400 yards with 24 TD passes and 16 INTs (83.3 QB Rating). He also carried the ball 48 times for 197 yards (4.1 ypc) with 1 TD run for the Bills last year. Fitzpatrick played in 55 games (53 starts) in his four years with the Bills and he completed 1,041 of 1,742 passes (59.8%) for 11,654 yards with 80 TD passes and 64 INTs (79.8 QB Rating). He also carried the ball 175 times for 822 yards (4.7 ypc) with 2 TD runs in his career with the Bills. Fitzpatrick was only 20-33 (37.7%) as the Bills’ starting QB. He finishes up his time with Buffalo #4 in passing yards (11,654) and #3 in TD passes (80) in Bills’ history. This leaves a big hole on the Bills’ roster, but Fitzpatrick proved that he couldn’t take them to the next level…..so a change is warranted at QB for them moving forward.
