The Bills have released Rian Lindell. Lindell played in all 16 games for the Bills last year and he connected on 21 of 24 (87.5%) field goals. He also made all 39 of his extra points as he scored 102 points for the Bills last year. 22-year old rookie Dustin Hopkins will replace Lindell as the Bills’ kicker in 2013. Hopkins was a 6th round pick (#177 overall) out of Florida State in last April’s NFL Draft. It will be interesting to watch Hopkins and see how he handles the tricky weather in Buffalo in the winter. Lindell was almost automatic for the Bills, so they are taking a calculated risk here to save some money.
